Why? vs. What?

John was born with no arms
But he never asked question,
"WHY do I have no arms?"'
The question he asks is
"WHAT can I do with my feet?"

Having watched John eats with chopsticks, I'd say:
" Almost anything"

When tragedy strikes,
or when we lose everything,
or when a lover walks out on us,
the question we usually ask is "WHY"
"WHY me?"
"WHY now?"
"WHY did she leave me for a loser?"

Asking "WHY" question can send us in circles
Often, there is no answer to "WHY?"
Or it doesn't matter why!

Effective people ask "WHAT?" questions...
"WHAT do I learn from this?"
"WHAT am I going to do about this?"

When the situation is really desperate, they will ask
"WHAT can I do, just in the next 24 hours, to make things better?"

The happiest people don't bother about whether life is "fair"
They just make the most of what they have

And is life fair??
Probably not.
But it doesn't matter WHY !!

Butterfly Lesson

I'm sure most of us are familiar with this story. I myself have read this one hundreds of times.. yet never get bored with it.

Subhanallah.
A struggle paid off.

For Parents.. and Parents-to-be

SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT TO THINK ABOUT...

I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
"Oh excuse me please" was my reply.
He said, "Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you."

We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said good-bye.

But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.
When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
"Move out of the way," I said with a frown.
He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.

While I lay awake that night in my bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,
"While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the children you love, you seem to abuse.
Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.
Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.
He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise.
You never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."

By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.
I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
"Please wake up, little one," I said.
"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"

He smiled, "I found 'em out by the tree.
I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue."
I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."
He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay. I love you anyway."
I said, "Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."

Are you aware that if we died tomorrow,
the company that we are working for
could easily replace us in a matter of days.
But the family we left behind
will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.
And come to think of it, we pour ourselves
more into work than to our own family;
an unwise investment indeed, don't you think?

So what is behind the story?
Do you know what the word FAMILY means?
FAMILY=(F)ather (A)nd (M)other, (I) (L)ove (Y)ou !

Children live what they learn

A child that lives with ridicule learns to be timid

A child that lives with criticism learns to condemn

A child that lives with distrust learns to be deceitful

A child that lives with antagonism learns to be hostile

A child that lives with encouragement learns to be confident

A child that lives with truth learns justice

A child that lives with praise learns to be appreciative

A child that lives with sharing learns to be considerate

A child that lives with knowledge learns wisdom

A child that lives with patience learns to be tolerant

A child that lives with happiness will find love and beauty

What kind of a person I am

A friend told me about this website. Out of my curiousity I tried to find out what kind of tarrot card I am. Here it goes:

You are The Sun

Happiness, Content, Joy.

The meanings for the Sun are fairly simple and consistent.

Young, healthy, new, fresh. The brain is working, things that were muddled come clear, everything falls into place, and everything seems to go your way.

The Sun is ruled by the Sun, of course. This is the light that comes after the long dark night, Apollo to the Moon's Diana. A positive card, it promises you your day in the sun. Glory, gain, triumph, pleasure, truth, success. As the moon symbolized inspiration from the unconscious, from dreams, this card symbolizes discoveries made fully consciousness and wide awake. You have an understanding and enjoyment of science and math, beautifully constructed music, carefully reasoned philosophy. It is a card of intellect, clarity of mind, and feelings of youthful energy.

Mmmm.. sounds nice, doesn't it?? ;)) I wish I were ....

Far from being superstitious.. this is just for fun... dont take this seriously ;))
